I think Frost’s ‘hidden metrics’ calls for 9 wins

So this is just me bored and goofin a bit. Pile on and tell me how I’m an idiot for speculating at something none of us know. Whatever. Just trying to generate some conversation.

We all know his contract had unbeknownst-to-us metrics he has to meet. I hadn’t really thought too hard about any of what those metrics might be cuz, hey no sense guessing at something we’ll never know. But today I was bored, and for some reason thought it would be smart to do so. LoL. No beer yet involved. Usually when I post on Reddit I get my ass handed to me, but F it, let’s go.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the win total laid out for him is 9 wins. Hear me out. Let’s go through the teams and how a program like Nebraska historically should expect to do, but not forgetting the reality of the last several years.

These are teams that should be considered wins. As in – if he loses to one of these, the deal is off and he’s gone on Oct 6 or whatever the come-to-jesus date is. Don’t care what the rest of the season looks like, these are deal breakers.
North Dakota
Georgia Southern

So that’s 2 wins.
These three teams are ones the current program (given recruiting and resources) has no business losing to. These better be wins, or very similar repercussions as above (although extenuating circumstances like all three QBs get taken out or Chinander has food poisoning LoL or whatever might be considered).
Illinois
Indiana
Rutgers

So that’s 5 wins.
These next four are teams a program like Nebraska *should* beat, but recent history is a bitch. Still, the expectation at NU is to win all four. But let’s allow for one loss, because karma is a bitch as all us Earl’s know.
Purdue
Minnesota
Northwestern
Iowa

So that’s 8 or 9 wins.
And the next three are ones where a program like Nebraska is historically expected to compete, and if not a win, then it sucks but it’s understandable. But if we’re at 8 wins (see above), then one of these is a must-win.
Oklahoma
Michigan
Wisconsin

And that’s how I get to 9. I’m just saying – it wouldn’t surprise me if AD Alberts looked at it and said 9 is the metric for this year to keep his job. Not any of this 6-6, or must go bowling stuff; the bar is 9. Nothing less. Don’t care about officiating, bad bounces, etc.

I’m in KS, and my daughters are moving up to Manhattan/KSU next week (I just hate giving $$ to the enemy). There’s not much opportunity these days to talk Huskers in my part of the world. So this is my outlet. I just had to get this off my chest.
