Scouting Minnesota
• The Gophers finished the 2019-2020 season with an 8-3 record overall and a 1-0 record in Big Ten play, with quality wins over Auburn, Alabama and Wisconsin.
• Jackson Allen, a senior from Shakopee, Minn., enters this season as a two-time academic All-Big Ten honoree. He completed the 2020 spring season with an 8-3 singles record and a 6-4 doubles record.
• Head coach Geoff Young is entering his 15th season as leader of the Badgers, with ten NCAA tournament appearances.
• After Minnesota’s performance against Northwestern, the team earned the No. 47 spot on this week’s ITA rankings, its first appearance since March 10, 2020.

• The Gophers won the first ever matchup against the Huskers on January 23, 2010 in Lincoln.
• NU last triumphed against Minnesota on March 24, 2019 — in a regular Big Ten season matchup played in Lincoln.

Scouting Wisconsin
• The Badgers closed the 2020 spring season with an 8-7 record overall, a 0-1 record in Big Ten competition and wins over Illinois State, North Dakota and DePaul.

Moreno Steady At No. 1
• Last season, junior Victor Moreno Lozano took over the No. 1 spot and competed at the top of the lineup in nine of Nebraska’s 12 matches. He finished the year even with a 3-6 record at the No. 1 spot.
• Against Northwestern last weekend, Moreno Lozano took a set against No. 58 Dominik Stary 6-3, while also leading in the third set before the match was called.
• The Madrid, Spain, native looks to gain some important wins in these two upcoming matchups.

• On the singles side, Maruyama has continued to move up the lineup with a most recent matchup at the No. 3 spot against No. 112 Zeke Clark of Illinois. While this match was unfinished, the Husker was up one set with a 5-1 lead in the second set.
