Huskers Set for 2022 Rocky Mountain Open Season Debut



The Huskers men’s gymnastics team is set to return back to competition for the 2022 season this Saturday, Jan. 15 at 6:00 p.m. CT at USAFA Cadet West Gymnasium, in Colorado Springs, Colo. According to Big Ten preseason rankings, the No.2 ranked Nebraska is set to take on various teams at the Rocky Mountain Open including Air Force, Oklahoma, and Stanford, in addition to GymAct teams Arizona State and Rocky Mountain Pride.

Last Time Out

NU returns back to competition for the 2022 season eager to compete in the first debut meet at the Rocky Mountain Open. NU is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Big Ten Championships. The Huskers return 16 gymnasts from the 2021 season and introduce 4 newcomers on the roster for 2022.

Scouting the Competition

The Huskers are set to face five collegiate teams for the upcoming at AIR FORCE, vs. ARMY

competition, including Air Force, Oklahoma, Stanford, as well as two GymAct clubs, Arizona State and Rocky Mountain Pride. Earning a unanimous first-place vote in the NCAA Preseason Coaches’ Poll, Stanford enters the competition as the previous 2021 National Champions, looking to make a big impact by maintaining the momentum from the season prior.
