The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team announced an exciting 2022 regular-season schedule on Monday, Oct. 18, which features five home meets at the Bob Devaney Sports Center among its 13 competitions.
Nebraska is scheduled to make its first home appearance with the return of Husker Nation to the Devaney Center as the Big Red battle BYU on Saturday, Jan. 15 at 6:30 p.m.
Less than a week later, Nebraska will be back in front of the Husker faithful at the Devaney Center when NU plays host to Illinois in a Big Ten Conference clash on Friday, Jan. 21 at 6:30 p.m.
The Huskers are back at home for another Big Ten dual when they take on Ohio State on Monday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m., in a match-up that will be televised live by the Big Ten Network.
Nebraska will host its final Big Ten home dual against defending national champion Michigan on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 2:30 p.m., with more live television coverage from the Big Ten Network.
The Huskers return to the Devaney Center to host the annual Masters Classic, featuring Penn, George Washington and Lindenwood, on Friday, March 4, at 6:30 p.m.
“We are very excited to welcome back Husker Nation to the Bob this season,” Head Coach Heather Brink said. “The energy and atmosphere they bring to the arena is very special for our team. I have no doubt our fans are going to love this team and it is going to be a lot of fun to watch.”
Nebraska opens its 2022 regular season at Iowa State on Friday, Jan. 7, in the first meeting between the schools since a 197.175-195.575 Husker victory at the Masters Classic in 2018.
Following its home duals with BYU and Illinois, the Huskers return to Iowa to take on the Hawkeyes in Iowa City on Saturday, Jan. 29 at 5 p.m. It will be the 39th all-time meeting between Nebraska and Iowa.
After battling the Buckeyes at the Devaney Center on Feb. 7, the Big Red will be back on the road to take on Maryland in College Park on Friday, Feb. 11 at 6 p.m.
The Huskers then head to Toledo, Ohio for one of the premier competitions of the season at the Big Five Meet. Nebraska will go head-to-head with Michigan State, Minnesota, Penn State and Rutgers on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m.
Following the home dual with Michigan (Feb. 26) and the Masters Classic (March 4), the Huskers travel to Denver for their final non-conference meet of the season, when they face Denver, Arkansas and Oregon State on Sunday, March 13 at 3 p.m.
The postseason begins at the Big Ten Championships in Iowa City on Saturday, March 19. NCAA Regionals are set to take place at four different locations (Auburn, Kentucky, NC State, Washington) March 31-April 2.
The NCAA Championships will be held at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, April 15-16.
