Following its first win of the season, the Nebraska soccer team continues its home slate when the Huskers host Arizona and Weber State this week.
NU welcomes Arizona to Lincoln on Thursday night, starting at 7:05 p.m. (CT). On Sunday afternoon, the Huskers battle Weber State at 1:05 p.m. (CT). The game with feature Pups at the Pitch and a Dog Bandana giveaway.

Last Time Out
Nebraska earned its first win of the season on Sunday, Aug. 21 in a 2-1 victory over former conference foe Oklahoma. Freshman Sadie Waite scored the game-winning goal for her first career Husker points.
Next Up
The Huskers will stay home and host Portland on Thursday, Sept. 1 to conclude their five-game homestand.
Kicking Off
• Juniors Eleanor Dale and Reagan Raabe and sophomore Sarah Weber received Big Ten Preseason Honors recognition, announced by the conference last Monday.
• The Big Ten also released its preseason poll on Monday, as voted on by the conference coaches. Nebraska is picked to finish 12th in the conference.
• Nebraska continues its tradition of playing a strong schedule in 2022. This year’s slate features eight NCAA Tournament qualifiers from last season, including two that advanced to the Sweet 16 and one that reached the Elite Eight.
• This season, the Huskers will have two nationally televised games as both their home game against USC on Sept. 11 and their away game at Purdue on Sept. 29 will be on BTN.
• During Big Ten play, five of Nebraska’s 10 conference opponents qualified for the NCAA Tournament last season.
• Three of Nebraska’s 2022 opponents earned spots on the preseason United Soccer Coaches poll, released on Aug. 2. The teams are Michigan (9), Penn State (14) and USC (15). Purdue and Wisconsin also received votes.
• The Huskers have 12 regular-season home games scheduled for their eighth season at Barbara Hibner Stadium in 2022. Additionally, NU will host one exhibition, seven non-conference and five conference matches.
• Head Coach John Walker enters his 29th season, alongside assistant coaches Ian Bridge (seventh season), Marty Everding (25th season) and Samantha Areman (second season).
Scouting the Arizona Wildcats
• Arizona is 2-0 this season after defeating Iowa State (2-1) and Texas Tech (1-0) last week.
• Last season, Arizona went 5-13 with a 2-9 record in Pac-12 play to tie for 11th in the conference standings.
• Nebraska leads the all-time series between Nebraska and Arizona, 4-2-0, dating back to the first meeting between the schools in 1994. Arizona won the most recent matchup, 3-2, in 2021.
• Head Coach Becca Moros is 5-13-0 in her second season at Arizona. She is assisted by Lorraine Quinn, Brian Periman and Katie Coleman.

Scouting the Weber State Wildcats
• Weber State is 0-2 this season after falling to Colorado (0-5) and Denver (0-2) this past week. The Wildcats play at Kansas State on Thursday, Sept. 1 after battling the Huskers on Sunday.
• Last season, Weber State went 11-9 overall and placed fourth in the Big Sky conference with a 6-3 mark.
• Sunday will mark the first time the teams have faced each other in regular season play.
• Head Coach Craig Sanders is 15-12-3 in his third season at Weber State. He is assisted by Mike Manning, Kendra Smith and Gary Lambert.
