Huskers Gear Up for Final Home Meet of the Season



The Huskers are back at home in Lincoln, Neb. where they are set to host a three-team matchup against Illinois, Minnesota, and Iowa. Their second home meet of the season, Nebraska will be honoring and celebrating current seniors and previous alumni this Saturday, March 5 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The meet is set to begin at 5:00 p.m. CT and will be streamed on BTN+ network.

Last Time Out

Coming off a close-call match against Oklahoma, Nebraska looks to capture the win this weekend at their home base in Lincoln, Neb. Last time out, the Huskers fell to the Sooners 403.300-414.100 despite a competitive, high-energy performance. 

NU impressed with two event titles from seniors Evan Kriley and Jake Bonnay. Kriley registered a career-high 14.50 on pommel horse, good for the title, where teammate Bonnay rallied after notching a 14.25 on floor, claiming the title for the Big Red. In addition to the titles, Nebraska earned six individual career-highs during the competition.

Looking ahead, Nebraska is ranked third overall going into their three-team clash this weekend. Following the all-around, NU ranks third on floor, pommel horse, vault, parallel bars, second on high bar, and seventh on still rings.

Individually, senior Jake Bonnay ranks fourth on floor, senior Evan Kriley ranks fourth on pommel horse, and senior Charlie Giles ranks fifth on pommel horse.

Scouting the Competition

The Fighting Illini ranks sixth overall in the Big Ten conference, after a recent loss to Oklahoma, heading into the week nine of the regular season to take on the Cornhuskers. With a three-score average of 398.883, UI ranks fifth on pommel horse, fourth on vault, and third on high bar.
