The Nebraska soccer team (3-1-0) returns home to host Omaha and Loyola-Chicago at Hibner Stadium this Thursday and Sunday for the final home non-conference matches of the season.
Thursday night’s tilt between in-state opponents Nebraska and Omaha (1-2-0) is set for 7:05 p.m. (CT). Sunday is “Pepsi Pack the House” at Hibner Stadium, featuring $1 admission to the match between the Huskers and Ramblers (3-0-0) at 1.05 p.m. (CT). The first 500 fans will receive a Pepsi coupon.
Fans can purchase tickets to each game by calling 1-800-8 BIG RED or by visiting Huskers.com/tickets. Both matches this weekend will be streamed on Big Ten Network+ (subscription required). Fans can also track the action by following @NebraskaSoccer on Twitter and viewing the live stats on huskers.com.
Last Time Out
The Huskers split their matches on the road this weekend. NU defeated Baylor on Thursday, 2-1, before falling to Oklahoma on Sunday by a 1-0 margin.
Next Up
The Huskers hit the road for a couple of games in Tucson against Arizona State (Thursday at 5 p.m.) and Arizona (Sunday at 2 p.m.).
Kicking Off
• Goalkeeper Sami Hauk has made four starts on the year and had a career-high nine saves last weekend against the Sooners.
• The Huskers had 15 shots on goal against the Sooners with Allison Napora notching a career-high of three. Nebraska had nine shots on goal in its defeat over Baylor.
• Senior defender Olivia Brown scored the game-winning goal against the Bears with a put-back header past the goal line. The play was Brown’s first career goal.
• Freshman Sarah Weber netted the first goal of her Husker career with a shot past the Baylor goalie.
Scouting the Omaha Mavericks
• Omaha is 1-2-0 this season and lost last week’s matchup against Wyoming, 4-0.
• Last season, Omaha went 8-5-5 overall and 8-4-4 in conference play and finished third in the Summit League.
• This is the first meeting between the Huskers and the Mavericks.
• Head Coach Tim Walters is in his fifth year at Omaha with a 27-37-10 record. Prior to Omaha, Walters spent six seasons as an assistant on the UNO men’s soccer coaching staff. He helped the Mavericks post a 29-16-9 overall record.

Scouting the Loyola Ramblers
• Loyola is 3-0-0 this season with its most recent win over Florida Atlantic last Friday.
• The Ramblers were 8-2-1 last season and qualified for the NCAA Tournament. They lost in the first round to Denver, 3-1.
• Nebraska leads the all-time series against Loyola, 4-0-0. The first matchup in 1995 with the Ramblers resulted in a 4-2 Husker win.
• Head Coach Barry Bimbi is in his 11th year at Loyola with an 85-79-24 record. Prior to Loyola, Bimbi spent four seasons at the University of Pittsburgh. Bimbi is assisted by Chris Brown and Angela Staveskie.
