Hauk Wins Second-Straight Big Ten Weekly Honor

Sophomore Sami Hauk earned back-to-back Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week honors after helping Nebraska to a 3-1-0 record to open the 2021-22 season, the conference announced Tuesday.

Hauk played all 90 minutes in a 2-1 win at Baylor on Thursday and earned eight saves. On Sunday, she played 89 minutes and tallied nine saves, a career-high, before an injury sidelined her for the remainder of the game.

With last week’s efforts, the native of Argyle, Texas now has 24 saves on the year and only one goal allowed in four games.

The Huskers have won the Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week honor in 2018 and most recently in 2021 when junior goalkeeper Makinzie Short took home the award to close out the 2020-21 season.
