Huskers Collide With Cyclones – University of Nebraska

After competing against a talented Minnesota squad in Minneapolis Friday, the Nebraska swimming and diving team clashes with the Iowa State Cyclones Saturday in Ames at 11 a.m.

Live video of the dual will be provided on the Iowa State Swimming and Diving Facebook page. Live results will also be available on the Meet Mobile App.

Nebraska sits at 2-1 on the season and 1-1 in the Big Ten, after a loss to Minnesota on Friday night. In the dual against the Golden Gophers, the Huskers came out with three victories including freshman Milica Opacic in the 100 butterfly, senior Madesyn Ronquillio in the 200 backstroke and senior Shannon Stott in the 500 freestyle. Senior Autumn Haebig joined Opacic as Husker swimmers who put up four top-three finishes on the evening.

The Cyclones enter the dual at 3-0, marking the first time they’ve started a season with three straight wins since 2006-07.

Nebraska and Iowa State have met almost annually, with the Huskers collecting the past six consecutive victories. The most recent dual on Oct. 19, 2019 at Devaney Natatorium resulted in a narrow Nebraska win (151-149). The Huskers lead the all-time series 18-2-1, with the two teams racing a tie (150-150) in 2013-14.

The Cyclones finished fifth at the Big 12 Conference Championships last season.
