Husker Baseball Season Ends With 16-1 Loss to Connecticut

Husker offense goes cold in season ending loss

The 2019 Nebraska baseball season is done. After blowing a 5-0 lead last night, Nebraska could not muster any offense against Colby Dunlop and the UConn Huskies. Angelo Altavilla provided two hits in his last game as a Husker to lead the team.

Reece Eddins got the start for the Huskers and ran into his usual first inning problems. Eddins threw six of his first seven pitches outside the zone to start. The eighth pitch was a single that put two on for the Huskies. After a pair of fly outs got Reece within an out of getting out of the first, he gave up a two out RBI single to put UConn on the board.

A solo home run in the second would extend the UConn lead to 2-0. Another run scored in the fourth when a triple landed in front of Joe Acker in center field and then scored on another base hit.
