Good class, but at what level will it perform on the field?

According to Rivals, Nebraska’s recruiting classes in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and now 2021 were/are ranked, accordingly, 20th, 21st, 15th, 17th, and, now, 19th. If you add these rankings and divide by five you get, rounding up, an average signing day class of 19th in the FBS. To get Nebraska’s expected on-field performance for next season you simply add 50 to that 19th number, meaning that the team’s ranking in the final AP poll in January 2022 should be about 69th. Yep, 69th and way behind, say, Coastal Carolina and Liberty.
