Give Frost another few years?

As a Nebraska fan from the 80s, I didn’t really want Scott Frost as a coach, but it seemed about 95% of Nebraska fans praised, and loved the idea. The fan base was energized. Even though coaching at UCF, it was going to be a huge difference for him coaching in the Big 10.

Solich’s 58 wins, (still fired), during his first six seasons as Nebraska’s head coach exceeded those of  Bob Devaney (53 wins) and Osborne (55 wins). Solich was coach of conference in 1999 and 2001, and still got fired the next seasons.

Did our fan base, and expectations get set so high after the 80s and 90s, that we will never find, or be happy about any hire that we have, unless we are winning champions immediately? Success “Rarely” happens in a short period of time in sports, no matter how much money you throw out there.

I think we give Frost a chance to figure things out, instead of jumping ship after 2 years, then a crazy last 2 years with Covid-19 interference changing how sports have operated, with extra seasons granted, the player transfer portal rule changes, and the new sponsor rule changes. Allot has happened in a few years.
