Frosted Flakes: Christmas Week, Volcanoes, and a Fishing Fox

It is almost Christmas (yep, stating the obvious here).

I don’t think I have ever been this not-ready. We just finally put lights on the Christmas tree yesterday. I still have Christmas shopping to do. I didn’t even get the presents for Ranchhand 3’s teachers put together before the holiday break.

But, we are all healthy (for now), together and there isn’t too much else this ranch mom could ask for.

I hope all of you are enjoying this holiday season. Early Merry Christmas to all of you!

Huskers decline bowl game
The Huskers announced on Sunday that they will not participate in a bowl game this season.

I teach one class at the local community college. My students were running on fumes emotionally and ready for the semester to be done – and they don’t have the demands of Husker football on top of being a student. I am not surprised the team voted the way they did. I also hope they get a chance to decompress and be with loved ones for the holidays. Things won’t be normal when 2021 begins, but hopefully there will be some light at the end of the tunnel.
