Friday Flakes: Is Matt Lubick On His Way Out?

Reports have surfaced that current Nebraska offensive coordinator Matt Lubick might be in position to take a head coaching job at Montana State.

If he gets the job it would be another member of the Nebraska offense to “transfer.” Lubick would be the most recent member of the exodus from Scott Frost’s offense.

Now is the time to panic.

Or not.

The rumors of a toxic culture (apparently only on one side of the ball) at Nebraska could have involved Matt Lubick in some way. Maybe there was friction among the coaching staff which could trickle down to the players. Then all the sudden the players realize that if they transfer now they can still get their stipend and there ya go.

We have figured it out.

As J.D. (Jack Black) from Saving Silverman said, “Lug nut. Fixed it.”

I could obviously be wrong and it’s a complete coincidence. Who knows.

Bo knows.

I mean, Scott Frost knows.

So does Luke McCaffrey. He probably knows as well. Maybe even Will Farniok. Kurt Warner likely knows too because Kade Warner told him.

What should Nebraska add to stay ahead of the game?

Becky Hammon wasn’t hired by the Spurs to make history – The Athletic
Male, female, whatever. White, black, brown, gold, whatever. I don’t see that. If you’re a coach, you’re a coach. If you’re a good person, you’re a good person. If you’re a bad person, you’re a bad person. I know by talking to Becky, watching her, being able to sit with her and watch film with her and the way she communicates with the players, I know she’s ready to take the next step.”

I had no plans to recap the best food I ate in 2020. Then I saw a Facebook post written by chef David Utterback, where he featured my best of 2018 list which I wrote when I was still at the World-Herald. I sent Dave a text, and we chatted. He made a good point: “You should document even a shitty year of food.”
