Coaching Criteria

I’ll be honest, I’m less concerned at this point with the names being thrown out for head coach right now, because most of them are either pie-in-the-sky or just baffling in their stupidity.

The thing I’m more concerned with, is will the staff that Trev brings in set the university on another path of rebuilding? Or will they be brought in to run the systems already running well, and improve the systems that are failing?

Let’s talk the type of football we want to see, rather than the person we want overseeing it. That seems to me like the only way we manage to build the program going forward. Whether you like Frost or not, the roster development from a talent perspective and size perspective has been there.

Personally, the shit I want to see from the new staff:

* Continue the spread offense. If a pro-style coach is hired, pencil us in for yet another coaching search in December 2025.

* retain Ruud, Dawson and Tuioti, but at a minimum Ruud and Tuioti. Their retention will help maintain the defense and help with the transition

* have a designated Special Teams coach. They can be doubled with a position coach job, but have one guy instead of a committee.
