Coach Rhule Reflects on Spring Practice and Transfer Portal

Nebraska’s football head coach, Matt Rhule, took some time to address the media after the team’s recent spring practice session, sharing his insights on various aspects of the team’s progress and challenges.

Regarding the scrimmage held on Saturday, Rhule praised the performance of the team, especially the quarterbacks, against a tough defensive lineup. He emphasized the importance of protecting the ball and expressed satisfaction with the team’s overall handling of pressures and adjustments during the scrimmage.

Rhule also touched upon the opening of the transfer portal, acknowledging it as a player’s right but expressing confidence that none of the current Huskers would take that route. He emphasized transparency in communication with players and coaches and underscored his commitment to supporting players’ decisions, whether they choose to stay or explore other options.

When asked about the physicality level during spring practice, Rhule emphasized the importance of practicing with intensity to prepare players for the challenges ahead. He emphasized the team’s focus on mastering their craft and developing pro players while ensuring their overall well-being and minimizing injuries.

Looking ahead, the Huskers will continue their spring practice sessions, leading up to the annual Red-White Spring game presented by FNBO on April 27th. Fans can purchase tickets through huskers.com or by calling the ticket office at 800-8-BIG RED.
