Callan Captures Junior Gold Title



Current Husker bowler Anna Callan took home the U20 title at the 2022 Junior Gold Championships in Grand Rapids, Mich., Friday morning. 

Callan, a redshirt freshman from La Crosse, Wisc., competed at the Junior Gold championships, an annual national tournament for the top male and female youth bowlers in the United States. The event took place July 11th-15th with the finals airing on Bowl TV Friday morning. 

After double-elimination match play, Callan qualified second for the stepladder finals. Callan faced Jaelle Hamman in the first match and won 179-172. The Husker then moved on to the final best-of-three match where she bowled against Lara Kurt. Callan won the first game 235-205 and the second game 244-167 to claim the 2022 Junior Gold Championship title.
