Big Ten Announces Nebraska’s Future Football Match-ups

In a highly anticipated announcement, the Big Ten Conference laid out the roadmap for football matchups spanning the 2024 to 2028 seasons. Notably, the Big Ten will usher in an expanded 18-school roster starting 2024, while sticking to the traditional nine-game conference schedule.

Fans of Nebraska can rejoice as the age-old rivalry with Iowa remains intact. The Heroes Game will stand as a beacon among 12 protected annual bouts throughout the conference. A glance at the Big Ten’s new blueprint confirms each of the 18 schools will lock horns with every conference rival at least twice during this period—once in a home setting and once on an away turf. For the Cornhuskers, eight teams will be squared up against twice, eight will be met three times, all this besides the annual Iowa showdown.

Kicking off this fresh five-year rotation in 2024, Memorial Stadium in Lincoln will see the Huskers defending their turf against Illinois, Rutgers, UCLA, and Wisconsin in the Big Ten clashes. On the road, the Red Sea will head out to Indiana, Iowa, Ohio State, Purdue, and USC. Enthusiasts should earmark their calendars, as the exact 2024 game dates will be unveiled later this season.
