Big Ten Announces Men’s Tennis Schedule

The Nebraska men’s tennis team will play 16 conference matches as part of its 2021 schedule, announced by the Big Ten Conference on Monday, Feb. 1.

The Huskers will take on 11 of the other 13 Big Ten teams in a regular-season schedule that begins on Feb. 20 and ends on April 18. In an effort to limit travel, Nebraska will not face Maryland or Rutgers this season. Instead, the Huskers will face Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern and Wisconsin twice while taking on Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State and Purdue once. As part of its 16-match conference-only schedule, Nebraska will have nine home matches at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center and seven road matches.

Nebraska will open the season at home against Purdue (Feb. 20) and Indiana (Feb. 21) before traveling to Iowa (Feb. 28) for one match. The Huskers stay on the road for week three, traveling to Northwestern (March 6) and Illinois (March 7). Nebraska then returns home to the Dillon Tennis Center for two straight weekends of home matches. NU will take on Minnesota (March 13) and Wisconsin (March 14) followed by Michigan State (March 20) and Michigan State (March 21). The Huskers then close the month of March on the road at Ohio State (March 27) and Penn State (March 28).

The Big Red will play all five of its April matches against opponents it faced in March. The final month of the regular season begins with Nebraska hosting Iowa (April 4), Northwestern (April 10) and Illinois (April 11). The Huskers then close the regular season with trips to Minnesota (April 17) and Wisconsin (April 18).
