A Tight Budget Faces Nebraska Lawmakers This Session

As Nebraska lawmakers return to the state capitol Wednesday for this 60 day session…lingering budget concerns are on the mind of Lincoln State Senator Adam Morefeld. He tells KLIN News that he thinks they should go back and look at special interest tax exemptions to make sure they are all still necessary.

Lincoln State Senator Suzanne Geist tells KLIN News that she is hopeful they can find consensus on a balanced budget.
Geist says she is hopeful that they can at least cut less than they anticipated.

The budget shortfall facing lawmakers is currently projected at $173 million dollars due primarily to a weak ag economy.
