BALTIMORE, Md. – The Nebraska men’s golf team shot for a score of 305 in the third and final round of the Big Ten Championships on Sunday and finished in 11th place. The Huskers posted scores of 299 and 283 in the first and second rounds and finished with a team total of 887. The young NU squad with no seniors posted the team’s highest finish at the conference tournament since 2014 and will look to build on the momentum and return all of the major contributors next season.

Illinois had the best total score of 836 and captured their fourth straight Big Ten title. Ohio State (851), Iowa (859), Penn State (860), and Northwestern (863) rounded out the top five.

Cameron Jones held on to post the best score of the Husker squad, with 219 total and tied for 28th. Jones golfed for a third round stroke of 77.

Jace Guthmiller matched Jones’ third round stroke of 77 and ended up tied for 40th overall. Guthmiller’s combined score was 222. Sean Song followed just behind with a final score of 223 after golfing for a final round score of 75, finishing tied for 45th.

Jackson Wendling carded a stroke of 76 in Sunday’s last round, combining for 225 total. Wendling came in tied for 51st. Tanner Owen rounded out the Husker lineup, posting a third round score of 77 and 228 overall. Owen finished tied for 60th.
