Nebraska, which has ranked among the top 25 teams nationally in average home attendance for 12 consecutive seasons, is expected to be led inside by 2022 Big Ten Freshman of the Year Alexis Markowski (Lincoln, Neb.) and All-Big Ten forward Isabelle Bourne (Canberra, Australia), while All-Big Ten guards Jaz Shelley (Moe, Australia) and Sam Haiby (Moorhead, Minn.) provide electricity and experience in the backcourt.

Sophomore Allison Weidner (Humphrey, Neb.) and sophomore transfer Maddie Krull (Omaha, Neb.) add more experience and Nebraska flavor to the backcourt. Weidner was a regular starter down the stretch for the Huskers last season, while Krull was a two-year starter at South Dakota, helping the Coyotes advance to the 2022 NCAA Sweet Sixteen.

The Husker roster will also feature more depth and experience from Annika Stewart (Plymouth, Minn.), Kendall Coley (Minneapolis, Minn.), Kendall Moriarty (Wheaton, Ill.), Trinity Brady (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Nailah Dillard (Sacramento, Calif.), while true freshmen Callin Hake (Victoria, Minn.) and Maggie Mendelson (Ogden, Utah) will be added to the mix.

Nebraska will tip off its 2022-23 season with an exhibition home game against Washburn on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. NU’s 15-game regular-season home schedule will begin with Omaha at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Monday, Nov. 7 at noon and will feature Nebraska’s Life Skills Sportsmanship Pep Rally for middle-grades youth across the state.

The Huskers’ non-conference schedule will feature a marquee match-up with former Big 12-rival and 2022 NCAA Tournament-qualifier Kansas on Wednesday, Dec. 21, which follows a contest against perennial Mountain West Conference power Wyoming on Sunday, Dec. 18.

Nebraska’s Big Ten home schedule will feature nine games against the conference’s top teams, including Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State, Northwestern, Penn State, Wisconsin and Illinois.
