Why people are negative

At the end of the 2018 season, I was not negative at all about this program. I was very hopeful. Yeah, the season started horribly, but I expected that in a transition year. And what excited me is that at the end of the season, we were seeing tangible improvements all around. They finished 4-2 and played Ohio State and Iowa competitively. I had zero to complain about at the end of that season.

Why I’m negative now is because since that season, things seem to have gotten worse. The fundamentals have not improved, they have declined. The team looks worse even in wins.

So, yes, when the pinnacle of this staff so far was the first season when they went 4-8, a season that we expected to be bad anyways, yeah, it’s pretty fair to be negative right now.

Look if they take the good from the Iowa game, and go in and beat Purdue up, I’ll quiet up a little bit. It’s all I ask from Nebraska: win the games you should most of the time, win the toss-ups about half the time, and win the ones you shouldn’t every now and then. Instead, every game feels like a probable loss anymore.
