Why is everyone so dismissive when it comes to Logan Smothers?

I’ve read a lot of posts and listened to probably 3 podcasts ranging from Damon Benning to Hail Varsity. When Logan Smothers’ name is brought up it is usually follow with comment like “We know he doesn’t have it yet.” How do we know what he has??? He has looked more than capable whenever he has been in this season.

The laziest comments going in the media right now are “well we saw what happened with McCaffery and Logan is the same type of player.” These are two different players with completely different backgrounds, it is just such LAZY analysis.

Logan was recruited as a QB (#14 dual threat in the country), while Luke was an ‘athlete’. Luke looked like a receiver throwing the ball and Logan looks much more conventional. He has shown nice touch on a few passes in limited action. He is also son of a coach and has been playing QB for years.

For arguments sake lets say they are the same player…McCaffery is not a good QB but he STILL ran the offense better than Adrian at times. We just need someone who doesn’t hesitate and makes smart decisions. Get that ball out quick, receivers are running wide open. You can throw an under thrown lame duck and the dudes would catch it. Why did Luke get so much opportunity? Was it on name alone?

Another thing to consider is Logan isn’t some young ‘kid’, as everyone is calling him. He just turned 21. He is a whole year older than Luke and is only one year younger than Adrian.

Everyone questions if Frost is getting the best guys out there when it comes to the OL and WR’s but not in this situation? We are going to take his word that Logan is worse?

(sorry for the long post lol. Also sorry I haven’t posted the game, my house is being redone and my PC isn’t hooked up anywhere… also I can’t get myself to watch that crap again. Thanks.)
