Who’s gone and who’s not practicing, spring camp day 1

Here are the Huskers that Matt Rhule listed as having left the Nebraska football team or aren’t practicing on day one of spring camp.

Stats: Did not play in 2022, appeared in two games in 2021

What Matt Rhule said: “Great kid, just decided to not play, so he’s moved on just recently.”

Stats: Appeared in three games in 2022, recorded three receptions for 90 yards in 2021

What Rhule said: “Chris Hickman’s not with the team … Both those guys (Hickman and Tyreke Johnson), on their own moved on.”

Position: Defensive back

Stats: Did not play in 2022, appeared in two games in 2021

What Rhule said: “Tyreke Johnson’s not with the team … Both those guys (Johnson and Hickman), on their own moved on.”

Why not practicing: Suspended

Stats: Recorded 218 carries for 915 rushing yards, six rushing touchdowns and an average of 76.3 rushing yards per game in 2022, also caught 18 passes for 104 yards, was All-Big Ten honorable mention

What Rhule said: “Anthony Grant’s not with us right now. I’ve suspended Anthony until such time as I feel like he’s ready to rejoin. Working on academics and just general t things with him, nothing bad other just our standards as a program. So Anthony’s not practicing with us today and that will be day-by-day. Good kid just get him going in the right direction.”

Why not practicing: Suspended

Stats: Recorded 17 tackles and four pass breakups in 2022, also had 12 kickoff returns for 221 yards

What Rhule said: “Anthony Grant and Tommi Hill were not allowed to practice today. That will be a day-by-day thing.”

Why not practicing: Injured

Stats: Played in five games in 2022, completing 10-of-19 passes for 96 yards and rushing 12 times for 28 yards

What Rhule said: “Casey and Logan aren’t throwing yet.”

Why not practicing: Injured

Stats: Started 10 games in 2022, completing 173-274 passes (63%) for 2,407 yards and 17 touchdowns, also recorded adding five rushing touchdowns

What Rhule said: “Casey’s not doing anything. He’s not allowed to throw yet.”

Stats: Did not play in 2022

What Rhule said: “Fidone’s mad at me right now because I’m limiting what he’s doing. He’s completely healthy, but I’m going to limit him all spring. We’ve got to get him to the season.”
