The calm comes to an end. Here comes the recruiting storm.
Camps. Official visits. A flurry of commits. Every Big Ten program will experience it, and has experienced it since spring and summer official visits became an option for college football programs.
Yes, it makes more work for coaches, recruiting office and operations staff, especially in June. NU senior director of player personnel Vince Guinta theorized he wouldn’t be home much in the coming month, given that Nebraska plans to build a chunk of its 2025 recruiting class over the next 30 days.
But there’s an advantage, too, in dedicating June to that work. July brings time off and once the season hits, Nebraska can focus more on doing right by the underclassmen who unofficially visit instead of trying to cram a perfect official visit into a game weekend.

“The amount of time you get to spend with the families, the individual recruits and their families, I think that is so valuable,” Guinta said. “We’ve realized that is really where the sweet spot is.”
Families of the prospect, Guinta said, can get “comfortable” with the city and its downtown campus. They can meet with academic officials and a more relaxed group of players.
“Official visits — I think you’ll see a vast majority of them in June, and I think you’ll see them continue to trend that way, as well.”
May has become one of the quietest commit months in the calendar — right up there with August, which practically becomes a dead period with both high school and college teams in training camps — so the Big Ten standings, headed into June, are a bit less fluid from the last mid-May update.
Two teams made big moves though, and one team got out of the Big Ten basement. Nebraska stayed about where it was.
By the start of July, the Huskers hope to have risen up the rankings.
Here’s a look at what Big Ten teams have planned for June according to On3’s visit database. Several league programs are starting right away on May 31.
The scoreboard will update multiple time in June, as needed for the flurry of commits to come.
1. Ohio State
247Sports composite national/Big Ten: 2/1
The big names: CB Devin Sanchez, QB Tavien St. Clair, CB Na’eem Offord
Skinny: The Buckeyes have NIL money to practically burn, and their two collectives are spreading it around to prospects from eight states. OSU has a massive visit weekend starting Friday that includes Dakorien Moore, considered the nation’s top 2025 receiver.
2. USC
247Sports composite national/Big Ten: 4/2
The big names: DLs Justus Terry and Isaiah Gibson, QB Julian Lewis
Skinny: Here comes June for the Trojans, who are scheduled to host 30 recruits — including Nebraska targets Christian Jones and Corey Simms — over the next two weekends.
3. Penn State
247Sports composite national/Big Ten: 9/3
The big names: RB Alvin Henderson, LBs Dayshaun Burnett and DJ McClary
Skinny: The Nittany Lions have had good luck with running back recruits over the years, and the 5-9, 195-pound Henderson is elite. The May/June schedule visit appears to be heavy with linemen, but the Nittany Lions have been caught short at receiver for the last couple years.
4. Oregon
247Sports composite national/Big Ten: 22/5
The big names: QB Akili Smith, Jr, DE Matthew Johnson, ATH Dierre Hill
Skinny: The Ducks reached into suburban St. Louis — that is, Belleville, Illinois — to grab Hill, one of the Midwest’s top prospects. Coach Dan Lanning, himself with Midwest roots, has the ability to do that. Also, a familiar name at QB. If he’s as good in Eugene as his dad was in 1998, the Ducks will be in good shape for years to come. The Ducks are flush with high-profile transfers and blue-chip underclassmen, which may inform the 2025 class to some degree.
5. Wisconsin
247Sports composite national/Big Ten: 15/4
The big names: CB Jaimier Scott and OT Logan Powell
Skinny: Since mid-April, the Badgers have landed commits from the states of Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin — the usual territories for this program. Wisconsin will bring in several of its commits in late May/early June to help woo a large group of official visitors.
6. Rutgers
247Sports composite national/Big Ten: 27/7
The big names: CB Michael Clayton and DE Chase Linton
Skinny: The Scarlet Knights made the most of their first big recruiting weekend in June, snagging six commits in two days by Sunday afternoon. Three of those six, including Clayton and Linton, are from Georgia.
7. Michigan
247Sports composite national/Big Ten: 41/12
The big names: DL Nate Marshall, QB Carter Smith and OL Avery Gach
Skinny: The Wolverines have added two four-star linemen in Marshall and Gach. Smith, the QB, gives off some JJ McCarthy vibes. Michigan doesn’t appear to have as many visitors as other Big Ten schools. Is that a roster size issue, or a young staff still organizing after the Jim Harbaugh hurricane left the building. (Harbaugh was an aggressive, effective recruiter.)
8. UCLA
247Sports composite national/Big Ten: 35/10
The big names: QB Madden Iamaleava and RB Karson Cox
Skinny: The Bruins got a key add in Iamaleava, who turned down the chance to play with his brother, Nico, at Tennessee to stay close to home in the Rose Bowl. Cox is a good one, too. UCLA has virtually no visitors scheduled for June, though, which is odd.
9. Nebraska
247Sports composite national/Big Ten: 34/9
The big names: QB TJ Lateef, DL Tyson Terry, RB Conor Booth
Skinny: Lateef will be a game changer in the class, a big-time passer who is bound for a good year at Orange County (California) Lutheran High School. The Huskers, unlike other Big Ten schools, have chosen to pool their visits almost solely on two weekends, June 14 and June 21.
10. Northwestern
247Sports composite national/Big Ten: 26/6
The big names: CB Marquet Dorsey and DE Caden O’Rourke
Skinny: Northwestern historically recruits well early in a cycle because the school already knows which prospects will or won’t qualify for admission. So it’s not surprising the Wildcats have made their move with commits and could be at 20 by the end of June. David Braun has a new stadium to sell, too; by the time the 2025 kids get to campus, they’ll only have to play at the lakeside mini-stadium for one year.
11. Minnesota
Total commits: 7
247Sports composite national/Big Ten: 37/11
The big names: QB Jackson Kollock and LB Emmanuel Karmo
Skinny: Karmo could be one of the best ‘backer commits in the Big Ten, but he’s been a little drama in the last month, waffling back and forth about whether he’d take more visits after his commit. The Gophers will host 30+ recruits over the June 7 and June 14 weekends.
12. Indiana
247Sports composite national/Big Ten: 32/8
The big names: CB Chris McCorkle and WR LeBron Bond
Skinny: Coach Curt Cignetti has built the early part of his recruiting class with four defensive backs, including McCorkle, who picked the Hoosiers over home-state Florida.
13. Iowa
247Sports composite national/Big Ten: 43/13
The big names: TEs Thomas Meyer and Eli Johnson
Skinny: For now, Iowa plans to do its heavy visit weekend on June 21 – and only June 21 – although Hawkeye legacy Iose Epenesa will come in before that. It’s a little slower year in Iowa than previous cycles — which were off-the-charts good — so the Hawkeyes may venture more into Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin and Michigan for their recruits. Iowa has a couple big tight ends and big linebackers in the class already.
14. Illinois
247Sports composite national/Big Ten: 49/15
7The big names: WR Brayden Trimble and QB Carson Boyd
Skinny: Trimble (May 20) was one of the few May commits in the Big Ten. More importantly, he’s an in-state guy, and coach Bret Bielema said he’d build the program with guys from Illinois.
15. Maryland
247Sports composite national/Big Ten: 47/14
The big names: CB Jett White and OL Kahlil Stewart
Skinny: On3 has 39 prospects in Maryland with a three-star grade and 31 such players in Virginia. In case you’re wondering how the Terrapins slowly improved in a tough Big Ten East. Maryland has visitors sprinkled in over the next month but no specific tentpole weekend yet.
16. Washington
247Sports composite national/Big Ten: 60/18
The big names: WR Raiden Vines-Bright and QB Dash Beierly
Skinny: Huge upcoming recruiting weekend for Washington, which is off to a slow start in the wake of a College Football Playoff national title appearance. Double-digit recruits will be in town. The Huskies added a second quarterback, Treston McMillan, to the class. He threw for more than 4,000 yards at Mililani (Hawaii) High School.
17. Michigan State
247Sports composite national/Big Ten: 55/16
The big names: RB Jace Clarizio and QB Leo Hannan
Skinny: Out of the Big Ten basement — thanks to the commit of Clarizio, a local back — and looking to host as many as 40 official visitors in June. MSU needs a lot of players and could sign 30 prep guys if it wants.
18. Purdue
247Sports composite national/Big Ten: 58/17
Rivals: 59/18
The big names: QB Sawyer Anderson
Skinny: The Boilermakers head to the cellar of the standings, and it’s not clear whether they’ll get out of it any time soon. Recruiting was Jeff Brohm’s strength; he brought really good players to West Lafayette. That was before the NIL era hit a basketball school. Anderson is a Drew Brees/David Blough Texas intrigue, throwing for 9,580 yards and 109 touchdowns in three years at a small Christian school in Dallas. Great skillset. He’s also 5-11.
