What others are saying about Nebraska’s win against Colorado

A look at some talking points after the Huskers’ game against Colorado on Saturday.

Behind enemy lines

From Colorado’s postgame news conference

Deion Sanders on son Shedeur’s pick-six throw: “He came out and did something very unlike himself, characteristically, he never makes a bad decision, especially in that part of the field, which they got the pick-six.”

Sanders on if he expects response from O-line: “Yeah, that was the whole post-game, not speech, but conversation that we had. I can’t wait. Everybody in this room is dealing with some type of adversity, and our young men are as well. I want to see how we all respond to adversity.”

People are also reading…

Sanders on Nebraska and Matt Rhule: “His staff coached a heck of a game. We came into class together as coaches, so I’m always rooting for them unless they play us. But I’m happy — if we’re gonna get our butts kicked, might as well be him, a God-fearing man.”

Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders on crowd noise: “I don’t think the crowd had anything to do with the performance. I think it was maybe everybody on the team just wasn’t ready. Overall, I don’t think the crowd affected me personally.”

Scanning the wires

What other media outlets are saying:

You don’t bring a 30-carat diamond watch to a sword fight.

A Maybach can’t block. An NIL deal won’t chip an angry defensive end. You can’t microwave what has to be baked, slowly.

The Buffs were built for this moment. A foundation made of glitter, sand and promises, broken like so many hearts.

Nebraska punched CU in the mouth. By the time the Buffs got up off the canvas, the bell had rung and the judges had gone home.

Huskers 28, CU 10. What’s the point of a top-10 pick at quarterback if he spends half of Saturday running for his life? What good is a generational talent at wide receiver if nobody has time to find him in the clear?

You can’t nuke what has to be buttered and basted. And if the Buffs are going to block like this on the road, their season might be cooked.

What the fans and others are saying on Twitter/X:

Pat McAfee: If Nebraska’s gonna get those types of bounces PLUS the amount of talent they have.. HUSKERS ARE A DANGEROUS BALL CLUB

Eric Crouch: Rest well, Nebraska. I will.

Jeremiah Sirles: Nothing personal boys. Have a safe flight home. GBR

@TylerWong65: Colorado is looking awful on the field right now and unwatchable in this rivalry game against Nebraska. All the Hype for Deion Sanders is about to go away soon.

@CFBHeather: This Nebraska team came out swinging, and Colorado just inept offensively.

@Nycholas__: #0 (Nash Hutmacher) and #9 (Ty Robinson) on Nebraska look like video game characters

@JackMacCFB: Everything Dylan Raiola does looks like Patrick Mahomes. The way he walks. The way he points for first down after a run. The way he puts his arms up for TD.

@Ralphamsden: Want to know how soft this Colorado defense is? Dylan Raiola had more rushing yards in the first quarter of this game than he did in his last three years of high school combined

@ZFootball1967: Colt McCoy has the personality of dry paint. He’s awful. Why is he announcing games for NBC?
