Week 2: Ex-Huskers in the NFL


Here’s a look at how former Big Red players fared this week on the NFL gridiron:

Ameer Abdullah, RB, Raiders: Ran the ball twice for 1 yard, had two catches for 1 yard, returned two kickoffs for 60 yards and added a special teams tackle in a win over the Ravens.

Maliek Collins, DT, 49ers: Tallied four tackles in a loss to the Vikings.

Lavonte David, ILB, Buccaneers: Finished with six tackles in a win over the Lions.

Khalil Davis, DT, Texans: Appeared in 28 defensive snaps and three on special teams in a win over the Bears.

Nick Gates, C, Eagles: Played three special teams snaps in the loss to the Falcons.

Luke Gifford, LB, Titans: Finished with a special teams tackle and an assisted tackle in the loss to the Jets.

Brenden Jaimes, OG, Chargers: Appeared on five special teams snaps in a win over the Panthers.

Cam Jurgens, C, Eagles: Played 71 snaps and led the charge on two of Jalen Hurts’ QB sneaks against Atlanta.

Trey Palmer, WR, Buccaneers: Did not record a stat against Detroit, but drew a 41-yard defensive pass interference on Tampa Bay’s first drive that set up a field goal.

Wan’Dale Robinson, WR, Giants: Caught two passes for 18 yards, including a 7-yard touchdown, in a loss to the Commanders.

Cam Taylor-Britt, CB, Bengals: Hauled in a highlight-reel, one-handed interception and added two tackles and two pass deflections in a loss to the Chiefs.

Others of note

Noah Fant, (Omaha South grad), TE, Seahawks: Finished with one catch for 14 yards in an overtime win over the Patriots.

Harrison Phillips, (Millard West grad), DL, Vikings: Tallied two tackles in a win over the 49ers.

Greg Zuerlein, (Lincoln Pius X grad), K, Jets: Made a 33-yard field goal and was a perfect 3-for-3 on PAT kicks in a win against the Titans.
