Nebraska football scored a touchdown on its first drive of the game against Northern Iowa. Freshman tight end Carter Nelson scored the first touchdown of his career in the process, ending an efficient drive.

The drive itself took eight plays, 75 yards, and 3:20 off the clock. It was Dylan Raiola’s fourth touchdown of the season, and it set the tone early for Nebraska football.

The pass itself was right up the seam, and Nelson was able to do the rest of the work and take it to the house. The Ainsworth star has made an impact over the last couple of weeks, and he did so again on Saturday.

It will be interesting to see how Nelson impacts the rest of Saturday’s game. Nevertheless, it’s safe to say that he should be able to find the end zone a lot more during his time in Lincoln. So far, the returns have been positive.
