Volleyball season is under 4 weeks away.

I get it, the football team has a lot of optimism and unknowns so it’s driving a bunch of discussion. I am cautiously optimistic and can’t wait to see how the season plays out. But we need to take a minute to look ahead to the upcoming volleyball season.

Last year, we won the big 10 and got second place in the national championship. This was on the backs of almost entirely underclassmen. There were zero graduating seniors in the team. The sky is the limit for this team.

But I don’t think it’ll be easy going. We dropped a game to Wisconsin and another to Texas in the championship. Both teams are returning some key players that gave us problems. Texas had killer serving and I’m hoping to see improvements in our serve receive during the regular season.

The season starts off against Kentucky (ranked 10th in 2023). So we’ll quickly get to see if the team is gelling or not.
