Veteran’s Tribute Project

I am a Veteran that graduated from UNL.

I just got a letter from Ted Carter asking me for money to build a memorial for Nebraska alums that are Veterans.

I think this is backwards.

Why is my University begging for money from me to honor myself and other Veterans?

Did anyone else receive this?

If the University wanted to do something, they should ask their big money donors to fund it, or reach into their endowment to do this.

I find it pretty pathetic and am questioning why I continue to cheer for this team and consider UNL my university.

After I retired from the Army, I got my graduate degree from George Washington University, the most expensive university in the DC area. I didn’t pay a dime. Donors from GWU paid for the portion of my education that was not covered by the 9-11 GI Bill. Donors from GWU purchased a home and fund it for Veterans to use on campus while they are studying and attending classes.

That is a crazy comparison.
