Troy Dannen’s new contract details as Nebraska A.D.


New Nebraska Athletic Director Troy Dannen signed a six-year guaranteed contract with the school and will get a $1 million relocation/signing bonus as he arrives at the school.

Dannen’s base salary in year one will be $1.6 million with $100,000 increases over the next five years. His salary in 2029-2030 will be $2.1 million.

The contract includes four stay bonuses that begin March 31, 2027 with $200,000, followed by $250,000 on March 31, 2028, $300,000 on March 31, 2029 and $350,000 on March 31, 2030.

Dannen would receive performance bonuses for NU’s performance in the academic progress rate, the Director’s Cup competition and the football team’s performance. If the Huskers win the Big Ten title, Dannen would receive $100,000, while he would receive $150,000 if Nebraska football wins the College Football Playoff national title.
