Touchdown/interception?

I did not get to hear an explanation of why the TD/Int was ruled not a touchdown. I’m not a rules expert but what I saw was the receiver had both hands firmly on the ball and a foot down in the end zone before the db pulled it away. Seemed to me that the catch was made and was across the goal line. I would have thought all that was needed would be to make the catch and cross the line. Two feet down should not be needed since the ball was across the line. After that the db can pull the ball away, tackle him, or whatever but it wouldn’t matter. Can some please explain what the logic was that made it an interception?
