Chad Red Jr., Mikey Labriola and Taylor Venz will wrestle for All-America honors in this evening’s Round of 12 following Thursday’s opening sessions of the 2021 NCAA Championships.
Leading the Huskers with three wins in the tournament, #8 Red Jr. (141) won both of his consolation matches of the morning to earn himself a spot in Friday evening’s Round of 12. He picked up a 12-8 decision over Iowa State’s #7 Ian Parker in the second consolation round before earning bonus points in an 11-3 major decision over Purdue’s #18 Parker Filius.
