Thoughts on Rutgers?

I just wanted to gage your honest thoughts and opinions and try to be unbias as possible 🙂 This is just an opinion and I could be wrong on what I have gathered over the week.

Rutgers: They have 3 QBs I believe, Vederal who is injured and unable to really throw so will be mostly used in the run game. 1 Pass pro QB and 1 Dual Threat QB. Their RB has been injured the last 5 games and looking like he wont play tomorrow. They have 2 WRs and 1 TE who have played QB before, so could see alot of trick plays which could expose the secondary if we sell out on the run defense. Their defense gave up 13 points to Iowa offense (and we should have a better offense then Iowa). They are 0-5 against Nebraska and 1-3 (I think) in black unis since their coach came back. Haven’t won a home conference game since 2017. Barely beat Temple by 2 and Boston College by 1. Excluding the Wagner game (66-7) they average 14.5 points per game on offense. They are penalty prone like Nebraska. They are just coming off a loss against a Physical Ohio State game.

Nebraska: Nebraska’s first true road game and Mickeys first. Defense has been practicing more 9 on 7 this week to load players in the tackle box which could expose our secondary if the Pass Pro QB starts hitting his targets. We are 5-0 against them, but haven’t won back to back conference games since 2018. We are also on a short week after beating Indiana and a little banged up but not as much as Rutgers vs Ohio State. We have Palmer Martin and Washington at WR and Rutgers is more known this year for the run defense with a couple good secondary players but not enough to cover all 3 WRs. Probably be focusing on stopping Palmer. Grant could have a great game if he can get some decent blocks on the Oline, but Benheart will have to do better then he has.

My prediction is 36-27 huskers win, and that is because I dont think the offense gets shut down in the passing game but we take a couple sacks. If our defense doesn’t adjust very well to the trick plays that could be utilized it could be closer.
