The COVID Year Shouldn’t Exist

At least not for sports that still played through the worst of the pandemic. The Covid year was intended to make up for a supposedly lost season, but every major conference played during that year! There was no lost opportunity for these players! Yes, the seasons were abbreviated, but they still count in the record books. We acknowledge that season did indeed happen in the case of everything except eligibility, and it makes no sense to me.

I know this is me just being overly bitter in response to the news of Devyn Robinson and Caroline Crawford returning for yet another year at Wisconsin, and that we ourselves have benefitted from it in all of our major sports as well, but I am just so sick of seeing the same players for 6 years and it’s been a pet peeve of mine since the first year it was implemented.
