Life Long cornhuskers fan here. I grew up in Denver, but had a dad and stepmom that grew up in Nebraska. My parents had season tickets for 27 years. We lived in Castle Rock, Colorado and Toronto, Ontario, Canada and they made it to every game for 27 years.
They would take my brothers and I to a game once a year or so. Unfortunately, my dad wasn't a bad bicycle accident a couple years ago and passed away 2 years ago at Christmas. I'm going to the game with two friends who also have emotional ties to the Cornhuskers.
I now live in North Carolina, so I'll be flying into Denver and then we'll drive from Denver to Lincoln. This trip is for two reasons. One, it's a memorial trip for my dad. Two, this will be my friend's first husker game and only the second for my other friend.
I really want to show them what a Nebraska tailgate is all about, but don't have the ability to put it on myself. We're all of age, and would be happy to help pay for food or drinks, but would anyone possibly mind having three extra Cornhuskers fans sit in with their family during the tailgate for the Northern Iowa?
If that's uncomfortable, does anyone have a good recommendation for where we can go so I can show my friends the magic that is Lincoln on game day?
