Nebraska welcomed Colorado to Lincoln on Saturday night in a rematch of old conference foes. In the 73rd bout in the longtime rivalry, the Huskers snapped their three-game skid against the Buffaloes with a 28-10 victory.

The Huskers dominated in the first half, scoring all 28 points before halftime. Though the second half slowed down heavily for Nebraska, it still held onto the ball enough to keep Colorado out of reach. The Huskers finished the game with a total possession time of 35 minutes and 21 seconds.

Dylan Raiola delivered another solid outing in the air, going 23-of-30 for 185 yards and one touchdown. His one touchdown found the hands of Rahmir Johnson, who caught the pass, following a Colorado bobble and tip, and ran it in from 18 yards out.

Johnson finished as the Huskers’ top receiver, hauling in eight catches for 49 yards and a touchdown. Dante Dowdell led the ground game for Nebraska, rushing for 74 yards and two touchdowns off 17 carries.

The Blackshirts, meanwhile, put together a strong outing against a versatile Colorado offense. The Huskers held the Buffaloes to 16 rushing yards, delivering six sacks, 10.0 tackles-for-loss, and a fumble recovery. It also kept Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders in check, keeping him to just 244 passing yards and a touchdown.

Tommi Hill also snatched a pick-six for Nebraska after punter Brian Buschini pinned the Buffaloes down on the two-yard line. Jaylen Lloyd also hauled in a big play, grabbing a 36-yard pass to set Nebraska up on the goal line.

Nebraska failed to score in the second half. The Huskers also committed 12 penalties on the night, including four on a crucial fourth-quarter drive that saw big plays and a touchdown called back. Nebraska also missed a field goal.

But the Huskers held their ground in the second half despite conceding ten points to win and start 2-0 for the first time since 2016. Nebraska will remain home for its next game as it welcomes FCS opponent Northern Iowa on Saturday night. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
