Something to think about….

If we look back at Nebraska's seasons since Devaney arrived and look at the end of regular season AP rankings, that gives us a good idea whether the team would have made a 12 team playoff. NU finished the regular season (after CCG when they were played) in the AP top 12 at the end of the following seasons:

1963 (6), 1964 (6), 1965 (3), 1966 (6),

1970 (3), 1971 (1), 1972 (9), 1973 (12), 1974 (8), 1975 (6), 1977 (12), 1978 (6), 1979 (7)

1980 (8), 1981 (4), 1982 (3). 1983 (1), 1984 (4), 1985 (7), 1986 (6), 1987 (5), 1988 (6), 1989 (6)

1991 (11) , 1992 (11), 1993 (2), 1994 (1), 1995 (1), 1996 (6), 1997 (2), 1999 (3),

2000 (9), 2001 (4)

33 of 40 years, including 19 of 20 years from 1970 to 1989.

Not once in the 22 seasons since then. I'd like to think it's still possible, though.
