Should we start a new Black Friday tradition and wear the ‘Blackshirts’ alternate uniforms against Iowa?

This would be the perfect moment and year to do this. Both teams are coming into this game with stout defenses with the lowest CFB betting o/u of all time. Iowa has had great success this season by winning close, low scoring games. Iowa also wears black uniforms. Therefore, by wearing our fan favorite ‘blackshirts’ alternates, we would both figuratively and literally be beating Iowa at their own game with a victory. Two football teams decorated in black playing on Black Friday, it doesn’t get simpler than that.

Nebraska has had a tradition of playing before Saturday (either Thanksgiving day or Black Friday) during rivalry week. It started with a great rivalry between two great programs in Nebraska vs Oklahoma, and then became a more bitter rivalry against Colorado, both strong in their own ways. However, the Black Friday tradition vs Iowa has never reached the level of the other two, and the day it is being played has eclipsed the importance of the actual game. By having the Huskers switch uniforms for this last game of the year it might provide more of a spark for this yearly rivalry week game, and add even more insult to Iowa.
