Should the Big Ten consider going back to 8 conference games?

Seems like this is major advantage for the SEC with only playing 8 conference games. My reasons are as followed;

1) SEC is getting more teams bowl eligible.. Playing 9 conference games means no matter what your conference adds 7 losses while the SEC pretty much adds 14 wins maybe 13 because of Vanderbilt.

2) SEC’s tops teams have less opportunity to slip up by playing an extra conference game, which means more opportunities for playoffs and NY6 bowls

3) SEC will have more teams ranked when it is all said and done. Week 11 and 12, SEC teams play Prairie View, New Mexico State (2x), Sanford, South Alabama, Charleston Southern.. To name a few.. This allows their teams to remain in the top 25 improving strength of schedule on paper, while BIG kills their strength of schedule

I know playing 9 BIG games makes for better on air product.. But it should be considered since SEC doesn’t get any fallout for doing this while teams at the top in BIG get negative marks about wins/losses in the conference
