Serious Question: Would you be okay winning by cheating? (From a Dual Nebraska/Michigan fan)

I’m a lifelong Husker and now former Michigan fan. I lived in Lansing in 2018 when the “All or Nothing” documentary came out on Amazon, right after their 8-5 season, and had a lot of fun cheering for Michigan to return to a day when they were a dominant team. Partly because if Michigan could do it after years of mediocrity, so could Nebraska. At that time, we hadn’t played them since 2013 and Nebraska won, so they made a good “secondary” team for me.

I’ll admit – I never liked Harbaugh, but I liked the Wolverines. But I’ve been so disgusted with the way they won everything this year and the numerous cheating scandals that I found myself rooting against the team. I don’t consider myself a Wolverines fan any longer.

I know there’s the “cheating is everywhere and everyone bends the rules” assumption, and it may be true. It’s just frustrating to watch a team that stole signs and recruited during dead periods win a championship.

However, if you were to happen to read through the Harbaugh to Chargers thread on the Michigan Wolverines sub, you’d see that basically everyone treats Harbaugh as a hero. No one seems to care how they won, only *that* they won.

So here’s my question: Does *how* we win matter? Or only *that* we win?

I’m not baiting anyone. I’m genuinely curious to hear everyone’s thoughts.
