It was inevitable I guess. This Husker program has been bad for so long that it would have been remarkable if he switch really had been flipped.
The progress was evident to see even if the wins weren’t there. But a step backward was probably more likely that continued improvement. We’ve wondered about the psyche of the Huskers after some of these close, devastating losses. They’ve been resilient and said all the right things, but it had to take a toll, right?
Well, I’m actually more worried after this loss. They didn’t play competitively with a top-ranked team. They weren’t a brain fart or two away from a major upset.
They got outcoached and outplayed (not everywhere) for much of the game. That is going to be harder to put behind them.
