ROI for Satterfield right now is very bad.

Yes, my main gripe is with Marcus Satterfield. No, I do not expect Rhule to fire Satterfield this year, although he probably should considering his numbers as a coordinator for his career and for this year are very ugly. For $1.4 million this year, and as the 5th highest (tied) paid OC in the country, this is what we have.

This year:

Scoring: 116th w/ 18.7 ppg

Yards: 104th w/ 317 ypg

Giveaways: 132nd w/ 2.6 TOpg

1st Qtr: 125th w/ 2.5 pts per 1Q

2nd Qtr: 111th w/ 5.4 pts per 2Q

3rd Qtr: 101st w/ 4.4 pts per 3Q

4th Qtr: 79th w/ 6.5 pts per 4Q

Red Zone attempts: 124th w/ 2.5 attempts per game

Red Zone scoring: 126th w/ 1.8 scores per game

Red Zone % – 118th w/ 74%

Offensive TDs: 109th w/ 2.3 TDs per game

Third down conversions: 99th w/ 4.5 conversions per game.

Third down conversion %: 80th w/ 36.76%

Time of Possession %: 43rd w/ 51.91%

His career:

2013 Temple: 88th PPG, 75th YPG, 90 turnovers per game

2014 Temple: 100th PPG, 120th YPG, 123rd TOPG

2015 Temple: 61st PPG, 96th YPG, 46th TOPG

2021 USC: 106th PPG, 110th YPG, 109th TOPG

2022 USC: 40th PPG, 72nd YPG, 123rd TOPG

2023 Nebraska: 116th PPG, 104th YPG, 132nd TOPG

How anyone with that resume gets a P5 OC gig is beyond me. Injuries be damned; there are worse teams with worse talent with worse records who have a better offense than we do. The return on investment for Marcus Satterfield has been very bad thus far.
