A former top cornerback prospect is no longer part of the Nebraska football team’s plans moving forward.
Redshirt freshman defensive back Syncere Safeeullah is no longer on the Nebraska football roster, a team official confirmed Monday.
Safeeullah did not appear in a game as a Husker, having redshirted during the 2023 season. He was listed on Nebraska’s roster prior to the season and for the Huskers’ season opener against UTEP but not in subsequent weeks.

A tall, athletic cornerback recruit who spent a year on the IMG Academy postgraduate team, Safeeullah was recruited to Nebraska by former defensive backs coach Evan Cooper into the program’s 2023 recruiting class.
Safeeullah is now the third member of NU’s 2023 recruiting class to move on from the program, joining linebacker Eric Fields and defensive back Ethan Nation.
