Rapid Reaction: Frost talks 2021 schedule and potential changes; latest on QB room, Omar Manning’s status | Football

Husker coach Scott Frost cheers on his players during warmups before Nebraska played Maryland in November 2019.

Nebraska head coach Scott Frost talked about linebacker Wynden Ho’ohuli joining the program, his quarterback room and much more during a news conference on Thursday.

Here are some quick highlights:

* Frost said he thinks there’s a chance the 2021 schedule will get rearranged for a couple of reasons.

First, the Week 0 game in Ireland against Illinois is unlikely to happen. The head coach is holding out hope, but the odds are slim.

Also, the Big Ten moved the location of NU’s games against Wisconsin (which didn’t end up happening anyway) and Purdue as part of the shortened 2020 slate.

All of that means that even if college football returns to some semblance of normalcy in 2021, there are scheduling questions for the Huskers that remain up in the air.

* Frost said he wants to wait until after spring ball to make a decision about whether to add a quarterback to NU’s room, where the Huskers have just three scholarship players.

He said NU considered pushing to add a player before the semester began but ultimately decided to wait and see what developed over the course of the spring semester.
