Quit Worrying about the Second Half

I keep seeing the Huskers faithful whining about the team's second-half performance in various videos and message boards. Quit it, and not just because your harshing my ongoing buzz. We have absolutely nothing to worry about:

• That reffing was truly awful and robbed the country from what otherwise would have been a 42-3 or even 42-0 blowout. Six sacks would have been a dozen in a fairly called game.

• "The play calling was too conservative." You mean kind of like when our defense blitzed zero times against UTEP and still beat the piss out of them? We didn't need to crack open the Andy Reid book of magic plays.

• The judgment for this team against inferior opponents should be whether they dominate. They did that. Even with the horrific reffing in the second half, name a single point when it looked like Colorado had a chance to win.

• You know who is going to "worry" about that second half and use it as a teachable moment for the team? Matt Rhule and his staff—the folks we rightfully trust to build the program. The rest of us are just fans, and we get to enjoy the ride.

If you're complaining about what the team allegedly did in the second half, toughen up and enjoy what might legitimately be one of the best Huskers teams a lot of us born too late to remember the 90s have seen. We're all so used to recent heartbreak it's like a lot of us have forgotten it's okay to just completely celebrate a win as fans and not complain about anything the team did or didn't do.
