Offensive linemen Nick Gates (Giants) and Alex Lewis (Jets), along with running backs Ameer Abdullah (Vikings) and Rex Burkhead (Patriots) highlighted the Huskers in the NFL offensively in Week 9. The Giants generated 378 yards of total offense and the Jets totaled 327 yards. Abdullah caught a 22-yard touchdown pass, while Burkhead rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries and caught three passes.
Defensively, teammates Lavonte David and Ndamukong Suh (Buccaneers) and Randy Gregory (Cowboys) were the top Blackshirts over the weekend. Both David and Suh started on defense, with David recording seven tackles and a fumble recovery, and Suh adding two tackles, including a tackle for loss. Gregory saw significant action and recorded three total tackles and one QB hit.
On special teams, Sam Koch led the way, punting six times, averaging 45 yards for the Baltimore Ravens, including one downed inside the 20-yard line and a long of 50 yards.
