Players with Potential in 2021 and ones with reduced roles.

Where are the players we should expect to see big improvements / big roles in 2021? And players we should expect to have reduced roles in 2021.

Improved/Impacts

1) Tight End U in 2021 – The fact that this team will have their deepest TE class in several decades in my opinion should show great impact. As long as he comes back (which if he really wants to go to the NFL he will) Austin Allen could be a game changer next year. Honestly a dark horse for B1G first team honors if he has a good offseason IMHO. Vokolek should also be coming back and he will be a great 1-2 punch to Allen. This will give Fidone time to get use to the speed difference in the college game. I am 100% sure Frost will use Fidone, but Allen and Vokolek should be the anchor to this team next year.

2) Wan’Dale/Betts/Manning – With the unit above (if they do well) these 3 guys are bound to have good seasons. Wan’Dale is going to have to be a everything man next year and wouldn’t be suprised to see him lined up heavily in the backfield (especially if Betts and Manning are big threats next year out wide). Betts is showing great promise so far, going into his sophmore campaign with a lot of experience under his belt will be very interesting. Manning has the talent and size we need, hopefully he is 100% after this year because we need him on the field. Depending on the package, teams will have a very hard time covering Wan’Dale, Betts,Allen, and Vokolek/Fidone. Definitley will put Manning into some great situations.

3) Pheldarius Payne – I like what I’ve seen so far. Hopefully a full year offseason will fine tune him into the player we need him to be. I have big hopes for him.

4) Cam Taylor-Britt – PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come back. If the defense is going to be anything next year, it will rely on Cam coming back for one more year. If he doesn’t our passing defense will be impacted dramatically

5) Myles Farmer – Looking player a blackshirt in my opinion. Will have a starting role next year 100%. Outside of Taylor-Britt, Farmer could end up being our most impactful defensive player.

6) Ty Robinson/ Damion Daniels – The DL next year will go through these 2 guys. Both should be starting next year and hopefully another offseason boost both of their abilities.

Reduced Roles –

Adrian Martinez – We have had 3 years to develope. Clearly A-Mart can’t throw the ball consistently. He has legs but it is clear that teams are not afraid of him dropping back to pass. He is who he is at this point and I just don’t see Frost staying with him any longer. At this point I think you let McCaffrey have his shot at the job 100% and see if he shows improvement, if not McCaffrey should still see the field but in unique/exotic ways.

Cam Jurgens – I don’t see how he keeps his job any longer. I believe he is over hyped and makes too many costly mistakes. Maybe could see him moving over to guard and trying Piper at C instead. They have the guys up front to make adjustments. So I don’t see possibly how he keeps his spot after 2 mediocre years.
