Oregon’s mascot shows up at Nebraska football media availability

One of the Big Ten’s new members made a pitstop at Memorial Stadium.

Oregon’s popular mascot — The Duck — showed up at Nebraska football’s media day on Tuesday morning.

Accompanied by an Oregon ranger, The Duck took pictures outside of the stadium. Then the two caught word of coach Matt Rhule’s availability, showed up in the minutes before and took a seat in the back.

They’re on a road trip visiting all of the Big Ten schools, Oregon’s latest marketing tactic a week after floating a giant inflatable version of The Duck down the White River in Indianapolis during Big Ten Media Days.

Lincoln was the first stop. Minnesota, more than six hours away, is next.

Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule speaks during a news conference on Tuesday.
